Poor Louie Gohmert, a Hard-Right GOP Congressman from Texas, He Doesn't Get to Sit Next to Trump on Air Force One Today

Ever since it became more than clear to us here at AP, with our rapidly expanding group of highly capable and knowledgeable associate solitary reporters, that Donald Trump has never had the faintest idea how to deal with a global pandemic, we have come to the very clear conclusion that there are only two kinds of people in the world:

Those who wear masks to protect others against The Virus, and those who don’t.

So we found it extremely interesting that eight-term Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, a climate change-denying Trumpite Republican who made a total fool of himself during the Judiciary Committee hearings on Trump’s impeachment, has steadfastly refused to wear a mask anywhere at all on Capitol Hill, tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday, at the White House, of all places.

It was only yesterday that Gohmert was observed in close proximity to Attorney General William Barr, in a Capitol Hill hallway, without wearing a mask. Gohmert then attended a House Judiciary hearing where Barr told Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) that the exalted Rule of Law required him to let Roger Stone off free ((https://www.politico.com/video/2020/07/28/barr-pushes-back-on-assertions-he-politicized-doj-to-defend-trump-081754).

Louie was scheduled to fly on Air Force One today with Trump to Midland, Texas, where Trump plans to raise money at a fundraiser for his losing campaign to keep his job. That’s why Louie was tested at the White House for the virus.

In the process, Trump plans to look at an oil rig (yes, the man who claims that everything is rigged against him when things don’t go his way) (https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/29/louis-gohmert-who-refused-to-wear-a-mask-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-386076), and https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/29/politics/louie-gohmert-tests-positive-coronavirus/index.html).

Newly minted associate solitary reporter Karen MacArthur Green, a proud daughter of Texas, had been tapped by the White House to accompany Gohmert, but as soon as associate solitary reporter Susanna Sherman told her that Louie had never worn a mask at the Capitol, MacArthur Green quickly bailed and returned to her usual duty station in Denver as a technical editor, where she advises all the major pharmaceutical companies on how to develop a coronavirus that will work, and then explain to the public what’s going on in easy to understand language.

And we can’t let you go today without mentioning that Trump complained mightily yesterday that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s favorability ratings are so much higher than his:

Trump said, referring to the highly respected Fauci, “…a man works for us…Dr Fauci and Dr Birx also, very highly thought of — and yet, they’re highly thought of, but nobody likes me? It can only be my personality (https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/28/politics/donald-trump-anthony-fauci-approval-rating/index.html).
