Algeria's Autocratic President and Brunei's Sultan Are Ecstatic in Their Admiration of Trump

Brunei, an oil-rich sultanate on the massive island of Borneo, calls itself, officially, the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace. Borneo is the largest island in southeast Asia, but Brunei occupies only one percent of Borneo. Brunei’s population is 423,196 as of 2016.

Brunei’s Sultan is 72-year old Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, or Hassanal Bolkiah for short.

Islam is the official religion in Brunei, and Hassanal Bolkiah is the Head of Religion. Brunei follows sharia law, which includes punishing adultery and homosexuality by death by stoning.

Algeria, thousands of miles from Brunei, has been experiencing enormous protests over the continued authoritarian rule of 81-year old president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and the country’s army chief says the protesters’ grievances are legitimate (https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/29/africa/algeria-protests-abdelaziz-bouteflika/index.html).

Associate solitary reporter Larry Theis was in Algiers when Brunei’s Hassanal Bolkiah arrived via Air Teleport. As soon as Hassanal Bolkiah reached Abdelaziz Bouteflika at his Al Mouradia Palace, Bolkiah said, “Just adopt full-scale sharia law here — that will solve all your problems!”

Bouteflika gratefully accepted Bolkiah’s advice, and went back with Bolkiah to his inner sanctum to continue watching Donald Trump’s exultation as he announced that he is cutting off all aid to Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, as he prepares to close off our southern border completely,  as that will cause widespread interruption of trade between the US and Mexico (https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/30/politics/state-department-aid-el-slavador-guatemala-honduras/index.html).

Bouteflika and Bolkiah then congratulated each other on how much they both admire Trump for his firm grip on power. Bolkiah then teleported himself back to his Abode of Peace to preside over any future executions by stoning.
