As moderator Lester Holt shook Mr. Trump’s hand at the conclusion of the event, associate solitary reporter Jeanne Smith heard Holt ask him, “Sir, after what you said this evening about President Obama and his golf game, will you invite him to go golfing with you on one of your world-famous golf courses?”
Trump brushed Holt aside as associate solitary reporter Johanna Jones distinctly heard the candidate tell his son, Donald Trump Jr., “There’s no way in hell that I will allow any black people — especially blacks who were not born in the United States — onto any of my golf courses.”
Trump Junior smiled approvingly.
