DETAILS OF SATURDAY'S MEETING BETWEEN JOE BIDEN AND ELIZABETH WARREN

NUMBER ONE OBSERVATORY CIRCLE, WASHINGTON — A solitary reporter loyal to Bernie Sanders hid behind a curtain on Saturday as an observer while Joe Biden met privately at the Vice President’s Residence with Sen. Elizabeth Warren as Biden inches closer to announcing that he'll run against Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“Joe,” Warren began, ”you're almost as old as that old coot Bernie, and you want to run for president a third time?”

At this, the solitary reporter, who is the same age as Bernie, had to stifle a guffaw.

“Liz,” Biden responded, wearing his trademark grin, “I’m tired of being Number Two. It’s my turn.”

“But Joe, your wife is more interested in teaching than in playing the political game with you, you talk too much, and you are gaffe-prone. Don’t do it.”

“But Jill is my biggest fan.”

“She may be your only fan.”

Leaving the Vice President’s residence to report to Sanders’ Campaign Manager, Jeff Weaver, the solitary reporter congratulated himself on having done his patriotic duty.
