Trump Explains Real Reason for Promoting Government Shutdown

Donald Trump loves to be confrontational.

Having caused a three-day shutdown of the federal government last month, because he refused to cooperate with Senate Democrats on the contentious (but easy to solve, if he would listen to reason) immigration issue, Trump is now looking forward to forcing yet another interruption of vital government services, starting tomorrow.

Our top-notch associate solitary reporter, Johanna Jones, is always with him, and he confides in her. This morning, he told her precisely why he relishes another fight with Congress.

“See, Johanna, if the government is shut down, then Mueller and his witch hunt go away.”

A spokesman for Special Counsel Robert Mueller just called us and said that if Trump pulls that kind of stunt, he will seek a federal court order to force Trump to wake up and smell the roses.
